Music
NO FEAR Music is the first program division in what will one day include numerous mediums of arts and arts education. Our music programs welcome participants of all ages, musical backgrounds, experience levels, and socioeconomics to take part, in person or online from anywhere in the world.
WHO: Our teaching artists are acclaimed professionals and passionate educators based in New Orleans with backgrounds in Jazz, Blues, Funk, Soul, R&B, Rock, Pop, Classical, and more.
WHY: We aspire for participants to cultivate meaning and purpose in their musical experiences, in order to build intrinsic motivation to grow musically throughout their lifetimes.
WHAT: After establishing a framework for meaning and purpose, teaching artists withdraw from the musical understanding and skills already present within participants, no matter how nominal, and then introduce new musical experiences, knowledge, and skills based on participants’ capabilities and interests.
HOW: Teaching artists follow NO FEAR’s methodology for Experiential Arts and Learning (EA&L), which builds upon what inspires and motivates participants already. Our student-centered approach and teaching methods therefore become personalized to fit each participant’s individual leaning style, life and musical experiences, musical goals and aspirations, and more.

NO FEAR
Kids
Music is at the heart of NO FEAR Kids, our early childhood arts education program for children ages 8 months to 8 years and their caregivers.
The program utilizes art as a tool to introduce children to humanizing traits and social-emotional learning methods, including lessons on gratitude, acceptance, empathy, integrity, and courage. With each concept being integrated into interactive artmaking experiences that engage young and old alike, program activities include music, movement and dance, visual art, creative writing, comedy, food, and much more.
