Music
NO FEAR Music is the first program division in NO FEAR’s growing platform for Experiential Arts and Learning (EA&L). Our programs welcome participants of all ages, musical backgrounds, experience levels, and socioeconomic circumstances to take part, either in person or online from anywhere in the world.
WHO: Our music teaching artists are acclaimed professionals and passionate educators based in New Orleans with backgrounds in Jazz, Blues, Funk, Soul, R&B, Rock, Pop, Classical, and more.
WHY: We aspire for participants to cultivate meaning and purpose in their musical experiences, in order to build intrinsic motivation to grow musically throughout their lifetimes.
WHAT: After establishing a foundation of meaning and purpose, teaching artists withdraw from the musical understanding and skills already present within participants, no matter how nominal, and then introduce new musical experiences, knowledge, and skills based on participants’ abilities and personal interests.
HOW: Teaching artists follow the NO FEAR methodology for EA&L, which builds upon what is already within participants, including what inspires and motivates them to experience art. Our student-centered teaching methods become personalized to fit participants’ individual learning styles, life and musical experiences, musical goals, and more.
